Does anyone else have a hard time shopping for their husband? I’m sure there are some women who always know exactly what to get their hubby for every occasion, but that’s just not my gift (pun intended!). If you’re like me, you may need a little help, so I’ve compiled a guide of nine gifts for your husband. These are pretty good gifts (my hubby helped with this list, so it’s man-approved!), and the best part is they won’t break the holiday budget!
Why is it so hard to find gifts for your husband?
I think for us the problem is my husband doesn’t really vocalize things he wants very often. And it’s not like I don’t know him well enough to know what he’s interested in. It’s just that he’s not super into things, so it’s hard.
Here are Nine gifts for your husband if he’s anything like mine:
1. Subscription box
Both my husband and I love to get mail (as long as it’s not bills!). There are a ton of subscription boxes for women out there, but many companies have realized there’s a market for men’s boxes, too! Here are a few to get you started:
Birchbox Man
This is the male version of the immensely popular Birchbox subscription box. For $10 a month, your hubby will receive five grooming products from some pretty great companies. You can buy a year subscription, but that’s kind of a lot of money all at once, or just pay monthly (and cancel at any time if he doesn’t like it).
Dollar Shave Club
This one has been out for a while, but it’s still pretty great. Both my husband and I used this for a while a few years ago, but now they’ve added so many more products! Basically, they send you a razor handle and a month’s supply of blade cartridges each month. The boxes start at $5 per month, and you can add products like shave butter, shampoo, body cleanser, and more.
Mystery Tackle Box
This box is perfect for the fisherman in your life. The subscription starts at $16.99 per month with free shipping and the option to cancel or pause at any time. The box includes fishing lures and other tackle, as well as some pretty cool perks.
RavenPac Knife of the Month Club
My hubby is pretty excited about this one. He loves knives, and this box seems really cool. This box is $9.95 per month (plus shipping), and your man gets a new knife valued between $25-$50 every time. You can also cancel whenever you want.
2. Watches
My husband is a watch guy. He really loves them and I know I can never go wrong with getting him a new one. But that can get pretty expensive, pretty fast. Luckily, he discovered the Timex brand and really likes their watches. They aren’t too expensive, as watches go, and they look really nice. This Timex Men’s Highland Street Watch is a nice option, and it’s a pretty good price on Amazon.
3. Knives
As I stated above, my husband is pretty into knives. You can find some cool ones in some really random places. We once found an awesome rescue pocket knife at a truck stop that had a window breaker and seat belt slicer. My hubby loves that thing and even got me one to keep in my car, too.
4. Sports memorabilia
Regardless of the sport (football, basketball, baseball, hockey, etc.), you probably can’t go wrong with gear from your man’s favorite team. If you purchase items from, say, the NFL shop, you’re going to be paying a pretty penny. But did you know there are other places you can get official gear? We have purchased some amazing team merchandise from Amazon and even Groupon. You kind of have to hunt for the deals on those sites, but it’s worth the time because you can save a bunch of money.
5. Tools
If your married to Mr. Fix-It, gifts for your husband aren’t too hard to find. The tricky part is knowing what he already has in his arsenal. Pay attention when he talks about whatever project he’s working on, and make a mental (or physical) note of any particular item he says he needs.
Tools can get expensive, but try shopping at a Harbor Freight. With 900 stores nationwide, there’s more than likely one not too far. Plus, you can also shop online! The tools are good quality, and we always find what we’re looking for. I’ve also found a ton of great smaller items for stocking-stuffers if you’re looking for gifts for your husband at Christmas-time.
6. Necessities
Now, I personally don’t think these are the greatest gifts, but my husband swears he loves getting necessities. These include socks, his favorite underwear, a comfy sweatshirt, etc. I also like to get toiletries that I often forget he likes, like lip balm, man hair gel, and shave soap.
7. Gadgets
The internet is full of quirky and useful gadgets that make perfect gifts for your husband. Some interesting items include a nose-shaped eyeglasses holder, a YETI tumbler, a waterproof Bluetooth speaker, and more!
8. Personalized items
News flash, ladies! We aren’t the only ones who love to put our names on things! I’d monogram everything I own if I could, but I had no idea my hubby liked personalizing his stuff, too! Etsy is one of the best places to find personalized items such as shirts and sweaters, caps and hats, bags and socks, and pretty much anything else you can think of.
9. Candy/favorite snack
As the old saying goes, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” When searching for gifts for your husband, go back to the basics and give him his favorite candy or snack. My hubby loves anything chocolate and peanut butter, so I always add some of those candies to every birthday/Father’s Day/anniversary/stocking, and I know he’ll be super happy about it.
Alright, mama, there’s something to get you started on your hunt for gifts for your husband. Let your creativity and knowledge of your husband’s personality guide you to finding the perfect gift for him. Just don’t get discouraged and overwhelmed. Remember that he will most likely love whatever you give him because you put thought and effort into picking it out. You got this!
So glad I found this post. I’m excited to order the fishing box for my husband’s birthday.
